At a CDU economic conference, employer president Rainer Dulger speaks out against the traffic lights.

He called for strengthening the economy to become the focus of politics.

Berlin - At the economic conference of the CDU and the SME and Economic Union (MIT), employer president Rainer Dulger settled accounts with the ruling traffic light coalition in front of journalists on Tuesday (January 23rd): “Germany has a very strong and robust economy.

“But our country suffers from over-regulation, high taxes and duties, and a labor shortage,” said Dulger.

Regarding the traffic light coalition, Dulger said: “I would not have thought that when this coalition took office that I would have to say: We entrepreneurs have lost trust in this government,” said Dulger, reckoning with Scholz, Habeck, Lindner and Co.

Dulger warned that the competitiveness of Germany as a business location must once again become the focus of political action.

He called on the federal government to improve the framework conditions for the economy.

Companies in Germany have lost trust in the coalition of SPD, Greens and FDP.

Something has to finally happen now, but “nothing is happening”.

Germany must function again.

“That’s what we want, that’s what we want.

And we, and especially my regional associations, are now running out of patience,” said the BDA President.

Make sure that we can develop freely as a company and we will ensure that tax revenues continue to bubble up.

Tax money should be used again to benefit the people “in the companies and supporting them, not those who come to this country and take advantage of this social system without finding their way into employment.”

Dulger calls for planning security, relief and predictability for companies

Germany is becoming more and more of a “brake block” in Europe.

Dulger emphasized that there is no relief for companies, no planning security and no predictability - instead there is excessive bureaucracy, more and more regulations and more and more reporting requirements: "Ensure that we can develop freely as a company and we will also ensure that tax revenue keep bubbling.”

Dulger also addressed the topic of pensions - and emphasized that retiring at 63 was a mistake.

He called for urgent reforms in pensions and working hours: “We will all have to work longer.” CDU party leader Merz also demanded: “If we want to maintain prosperity in this country, we have to work more instead of less.”

The blows from the free economy interest group, which is close to the opposition party, towards the government coalition are nothing new.

The traffic light government had to take a lot of criticism on Employers' Day.
