2023 was the year of artificial intelligence and after the initial curiosity the business world now finds itself facing a real technological revolution that could be decisive for the economic future of countries.

To understand how to use artificial intelligence in the most strategic and profitable way by Italian companies, especially SMEs, the A&T International Fair in collaboration with Confindustria Bergamo, the Intellimech mechatronics consortium, the Intelligent Factory Cluster and the Innovation District Kilometro Rosso, organized the second edition of the "General States of Mechatronics".

All the speakers involved in this day dedicated to mechatronics companies highlighted how essential it is today to connect the tangible and intangible assets of companies from a 5.0 perspective.

In particular, the focus of the discussions was on two main themes, namely the most suitable digital technologies to be implemented by companies to be internationally competitive and the importance of data analysis as a business driver.

“Today, artificial intelligence represents a development and competitiveness opportunity for global industry that must be seized without delay.

The backbone of our Italian companies is characterized by excellent SMEs, highly specialized and very often points of reference for large global players.

For this reason, it is a priority for the country to implement an industrial policy that encourages the appropriate use of new technologies set from a 5.0 perspective, thus allowing the digitalisation index to be raised in production as well as in design and in the supply chain" he declared Luciano Malgaroli, CEO of A&T.

“The business world is experiencing a new phase of profound change.

After the great impulse given by Industry 4.0, we are now faced with the challenges linked to Artificial Intelligence which intervenes in everyday life and increasingly in industrial processes and activities.

It is important first of all to keep an open eye and have an updated overview of the opportunities that are presenting themselves and which can have a very significant impact.

Also fundamental is the possibility of comparing leading experiences, expectations, main critical issues of an evolution that involves large companies but also medium-small businesses, but for everyone the issue of skills remains in the foreground, which are increasingly crucial to exploit all the possibilities offered by digitalisation" underlined Giovanna Ricuperati, president of Confindustria Bergamo.
