At the Eurasburg CSU's New Year's reception, State Chancellor Florian Herrmann expressed solidarity with the farmers.

He could “understand” their protests.

Beuerberg - The Eurasburg CSU local branch welcomed around 60 guests to its New Year's reception on Sunday morning at the Gasthaus zur Mühle.

Some farmers received the prominent keynote speaker Dr.

Florian Herrmann in front of the hall entrance to draw attention to their situation with signs and posters.

“I wish you good luck with our critical audience,” said CSU local leader Peter Pelz, welcoming the head of the State Chancellery.

I can understand why they don't want to be dictated to by people in government who have never actively worked in agriculture.

Immediately after his arrival, Herrmann took some time for a short conversation with the farmers standing in front of their tractors and also showed solidarity in his subsequent speech.

“I can understand that they don’t want to be dictated to by people in government who have never actively worked in agriculture,” Herrmann explained.

The removal of subsidies for farmers and the current bureaucratic burdens are not “acceptable”.

The 52-year-old from Freising then launched a political all-round attack against the traffic light parties SPD, Greens and FDP.

The trained lawyer particularly criticized the adoption of new “unrealistic” laws that place food producers and craftsmen under “general suspicion”.

This not only leads to dissatisfaction among the population, but also to increased personnel costs in the authorities.

The Bavarian State Minister for Federal Affairs and Media sharply differentiated himself from the demands of the AfD.

“Leaving the EU and NATO would have fatal consequences for our prosperity and security,” predicted Herrmann.

He believes the nationwide demonstrations against right-wing extremism are necessary.

“But what is even more important is that we respond to it with our policies,” said the native of Lower Bavaria.

In the subsequent discussion, former Wolfratshauser CSU city councilor Paul Brauner asked about the chances of success in implementing a change to the state financial equalization system.

The Free State currently bears the brunt of this regulation with an amount of almost ten billion euros annually.

“That is clearly too much, but enforcing a lawsuit seems difficult,” said Herrmann.

The Dietramszell local council and district chairman of the State Nursing Association (LPV), Michael Häsch, took the opportunity of the New Year's reception to thank Florian Herrmann and the Bavarian state government for the financial support of the agricultural businesses.

“Doesn’t any farmer have a question anymore?” wondered CSU local chairman Peter Pelz in conclusion.

Florian Herrmann noted the silence that followed with satisfaction.

He had already taken a clear position beforehand and had not provoked any opposition.
