The European Commission announces new measures to promote artificial intelligence, particularly encouraging the development of small and medium-sized enterprises: "artificial intelligence factories" will arrive with the expectation of having an infrastructure with the necessary supercomputing services thanks to the initiative .

The Community Executive will also establish an internal IA office.
The European executive's proposal provides for example privileged access to supercomputers of AI and innovation startups and a change to the EuroHpc regulation, the legal basis of the joint undertaking for high performance computing.
This includes the acquisition, upgrade and operation of supercomputers dedicated to AI;
facilitated access to dedicated supercomputers, expanding their use to more public and private users, including startups and SMEs;
a one-stop shop for the AI research ecosystem;
and encouraging the development of applications in the sector.
The Commission will provide financial support through Horizon Europe and the Digital Europe program dedicated to generative artificial intelligence.
According to forecasts, the package will generate a further overall public and private investment of around 4 billion euros until 2027.
