The Italian market will soon have to deal with the "Green Homes" directive, which represents a great opportunity: by 2030 we could upgrade almost 10 million buildings on an energy level, creating around 400,000 new green jobs in the construction sector and thus also play a role key in combating climate change.
For renovation works "an alternative to the Superbonus exists, it is solid and would strengthen Italian companies", assures Claudio Ferrari, president of Federesco, association of Energy service companies (Esco), companies that deal with redevelopment and energy efficiency projects that are promoted to public and private operators.
Ferrari - speaking during the conference at the GSE (Energy Services Manager) entitled "European Green Building: opportunities for the ESCO sector" - explained that "ESCOs can guarantee different types of interventions and all of them would be financed with the savings that efficiency activities are capable of generating. A unique opportunity for the sector and for the country".
To make buildings more climate-friendly "it is necessary to build new ones better but also to renovate existing ones and to do this there already exists an effective model, with a low cost and without risks for citizens, companies and the country", assures Federesco, explaining that for energy efficiency interventions the Energy Service Company will be "the reference operator, as also reiterated by the EU Red III Directive".
