Annalena Baerbock is already known for her slips of the tongue.

The politician also has difficulty with one word in a statement on the situation in the Red Sea.

Berlin – It is no longer an exception for Federal Foreign Minister Annalena Baerbock to make promises.

She has already caused a few laughs online with her many slips of the tongue.

So now again: At a press event she speaks about the current situation in the Red Sea and about the attacks by the Houthis, or the “Husis”, as the 43-year-old politician from the Alliance 90/The Greens party calls the rebels.

The “Husis” thus group themselves into a series of faux pas in Baerbock speeches.

During a visit to Russia two years ago, for example, she spoke of "freedom of food" instead of freedom of the press, and last year she demanded that Kremlin boss Vladimir Putin make a 360-degree turn to ensure that Ukraine is safe.

Most of the time, Baerbock is targeted by X, including her latest slip of the tongue, as a widely shared video shows.

Baerbock causes ridicule with a slip of the tongue: “Husis attack almost every day”

“We are united by the will here in the European Union that we have to ensure security in the Red Sea, that we have to push back the indiscriminate attacks of the Husis,” said Baerbock at a press conference in an interview with several television channels.

With this new word, the politician is of course referring to the Houthi rebels.

They are currently attacking ships in the Red Sea that are connected to Israel.

Apparently this slip of the tongue was no accident, as the Green politician continues to refer to the rebel group that took control of the Yemeni capital in 2014 as “Husis.”

“Almost every day, the Husis from Yemen randomly attack completely uninvolved ships in the Red Sea.”

The Austrian tabloid online media

wrote that “Husi” is a common surname in Switzerland.

The name also occurs in Romania, but here a town is called “Husi”.

However, it is clear that Baerbock means the rebels from Yemen, perhaps she just wanted to pronounce the “th” in the name in English.
