The tests in the jungle camp are causing confusion this year: Stars are repeatedly banned, while Leyla Lahouar had to compete on Tuesday evening despite a deep-seated trauma.

Murwillumbah – RTL started the new year successfully with its jungle camp anniversary season, but one circumstance continues to confuse viewers: the exams.

Since day one (January 19th), candidates from “I’m a Star – Get Me Out of Here!” (IBES) have been blocked for them.

However, Leyla Lahouar (27) has none of these precautionary measures: The ex-“Bachelor” candidate had to go into a dark, narrow room on Tuesday (January 23rd) despite a drastic childhood experience.

Jungle camp exams cause frustration: the entire cast has never been selected since day one

The fact that all twelve jungle camp residents were never available to vote in the telephone voting from the start quickly caused dissatisfaction among RTL viewers.

Heinz Hoenig (72) was blocked every single day up to and including Tuesday (as of January 24th), and Cora Schumacher (47), who has now left voluntarily, could not be voted on from the second broadcast onwards.

For both of them, health problems seemed to be to blame for the involuntary abandonment.

Surprisingly, Fabio Knez (30) was also not allowed to answer twice: the tall reality star was once too heavy, once too tall - so no calls could be made for him either.

But it happened three times recently thanks to Leyla Lahouar, who surprisingly received ten out of eleven stars in one test, but in the other two she shouted the famous, eponymous words "I'm a star - get me out of here!" after just a few seconds.

Tearful exam termination in the jungle camp: Sonja and Jan take a position

She attributed her last test exit to date on day five to a childhood trauma: in order to win the coveted stars, the jungle camp participant had to wind her way through an almost completely darkened, oppressively narrow tunnel system.

Too much for the 27-year-old: Afterward, she tearfully recounted how, as a child, she had lost her bearings in a dark room at night and had to endure hours of screaming and crying in the darkness.

The shock from back then is still deep - and was clearly triggered again during the test.

RTL always puts its candidates through their paces in advance.

Apparently no one in Cologne knew about Leyla's claustrophobia, i.e. the excessive and persistent fear of confined spaces.

This was clearly captured again by Sonja Zietlow (55) and Jan Köppen (40) following the emotional scenes.

“Did we know about Leyla’s claustrophobia and that’s why we gave her this test?

The answer is: of course not!”, explained the 40-year-old in his live moderation after Leyla showed up at the camp without having accomplished anything and completely distraught.

His colleague revealed: “As always: the order of the jungle tests is decided long in advance.

And in the exam, everyone has the chance to face possible fears or to break them off." Leyla doesn't seem to have told anything about her trauma before taking part in the show, as Sonja suggested: "We always only find out about some things here."

However, there was no comment on whether Leyla would otherwise have been banned like Heinz, Cora or Fabio.

It wasn't just the tearful drama surrounding the exam that caused excitement on Tuesday evening, but also the camp toilet: it brought the jungle camp dispute between David Odonkor (39) and Kim Virginia (28) to a new level.
