Merav Leshem Gonen, mother of Rumi who was abducted to Gaza on October 7, responded today (Wednesday) to the recording of Finance Minister, Bezalel Smotrich, which was revealed in "Israel Hayom".

"There is no doubt that the good of a country is meeting its obligations towards its citizens and the duty to maintain their safety is above all," said Leshem Gonen.
She added that: "Currently there are 136 citizens who have been kidnapped across Israel's borders and their safety is in danger every minute, therefore the duty of the state and its security are directly related to returning them home and as soon as possible. This is my personal reaction as a mother, not anyone else's reaction."

As I recall, in the room of the religious Zionist faction in the Knesset, the families of the abductees met with Finance Minister Bezalel Smotrich.
The conversation turned to the operational activity in Gaza and also to the difficult dilemmas surrounding their release.
In the recording published for the first time on the "Israel Hayom" website, Smotrich is heard saying to the families, "I don't know how to promise that I will return all the abductees home alive."
