" It's intolerable !

» denounces this Wednesday, on X (formerly Twitter), Paris en Commun 15e.

Just a few hours before the Night of Solidarity, the left-wing political group calls in a press release on all elected officials to gather on Thursday January 25, at 5 p.m., in front of the regional prefecture (5, rue Leblanc) and demand accommodation of several families who live on the street and whose children go to school in the 15th arrondissement of the capital.

“In the Balard district, at least 9 families do not have an accommodation solution,” the press release states.

Schooled in Félix-Faure, Jongkind, Varet, Frères-Voisin, Rouelle, Sextius-Michel and Saint-Charles schools, the children and their families have been in this situation for several weeks already.

The Île-de-France prefecture, alerted and questioned in December by a collective of residents and teachers, has not yet offered any accommodation solution to families.

“The State's mission is to open emergency accommodation to house homeless people,” insists Paris en commun.

“This fight goes beyond all political divisions,” the group also declared, also inviting “all citizens” to join the movement.

Today, at least 9 families whose children attend school in the 15th do not have fixed accommodation.

Faced with the intolerable situation of children on the street, wherever they come from, but attending school in the 15th, we are calling on the Paris town hall and the @Prefet75_IDF, the only competent ones.

While awaiting their intervention, we are acting resolutely.

For people on the street, the 15th offers in particular 2,000 accommodation places, the opening of the Communal House during the winter plan, a gymnasium, luggage storage, breakfasts and dinners in the town hall, food distribution and marauding,” added the city councilor.
