A resident of Rehovot was arrested on suspicion of attacking Minister Idit Silman/Rehovot News
The Magistrate's Court in Rishon Lezion today (Wednesday) extended Jordan Man's detention by one day, when the police requested a five-day extension and accuse Man of the offenses of threats, malicious damage to property and assault of a public servant, when according to the report it is alleged that the suspect slapped Salman.
The police representative at the hearing said that according to the report received by them, the suspect began taking pictures of the minister, teasing her and even threatening her.
The minister replied and asked to find out why she was talking to her in such a way while she also started taking pictures of her on her personal phone and in response to this, the suspect knocked the phone out of her hand and then slapped her in the face.
During her investigation, Mann linked herself to a confrontation with the minister, although she denied the attack and the threats attributed to her.
In her version, she said that she used her phone to record the minister, who in response knocked the phone out of her hand and pushed her.
"Investigative materials that have already been collected at this stage strengthen the complaint made by the minister and strengthen the suspicion that the suspect indeed attacked and knocked the phone out of her hand," said the police representative at the hearing, referring to investigative materials such as security camera records and the collection of evidence that only strengthened the suspicion.
"This is a lady with no criminal record, a teacher, mother of a child on the streak."

At the hearing, the suspect's defense attorney, attorney Yoni Nussbaum, presented the video published in the media that partially shows the incident and in which the suspect is not seen attacking the minister. "The incident of the attack itself happened after the documents you presented," the police representative responded to the video. "We are still We are checking the things."
"This is a lady with no criminal record, a teacher, a mother of a child on the streak," Attorney Nussbaum said at the hearing.
"As part of the protest, she saw Minister Silman and made several comments to her about the conduct of the government and hers, and things developed from there. According to Mrs. Silman, she says things that probably did not exist and were not created."
Attorney Nussbaum claimed in the hearing that the investigators showed the suspect videos of the incident in which she is not seen attacking the minister, the police representative replied that they are not aware at this stage of the existence of a video documenting the incident of the attack, but documents continue to be collected as part of the investigation.

Judge Tal Ostfeld Naoi said in her decision that the investigation materials presented to her establish a reasonable suspicion that the suspect carried out the attack.
"I left because the investigation must be allowed to continue."
said the judge.
"At the same time, I found that it is possible to settle for a much shorter period than the one requested and the investigating unit has the power to finish the investigation by tomorrow."
The suspect detained for questioning is a teacher of special education and remedial teaching in the arts, a mother of a child with special needs, and also a candidate for the Rehovot City Council.
Her relatives claim that she took her son to school this morning and ran into Sarah on her way.
In 2021, while serving as the chair of the coalition in the government of change, Idit Silman, claimed in media interviews that she was attacked at a gas station in Modi'in, when a man approached her and physically slammed her into a car. The police investigation found no evidence of a physical attack.
