The United States and Great Britain, with the support of Australia, Bahrain, Canada, the Netherlands and New Zealand, attacked eight Houthi targets in Yemen, the British government officially stated tonight (Wednesday).

A total of 24 different countries participated in the attack tonight.



After the attack, the British Prime Minister's Office issued a statement in which it confirmed the attack and said that it came in response to "the continued illegal and reckless Houthi attacks against vessels passing in and around the Red Sea."

The statement also said that "these attacks are intended to disrupt and degrade the ability of the Houthis to continue their attacks on world trade and on innocent ships from around the world arriving in the region, while avoiding escalation."
