Another large demonstration is planned for Sunday on Theresienwiese: An alliance of farmers, restaurateurs, entrepreneurs and private individuals want to protest against the traffic light government's plans.

Munich – One large demonstration is currently following the next: On Sunday, January 28th, from 12 p.m., the “Hand in Hand for our Country” alliance is calling for a rally on the Theresienwiese.

This is an association of farmers, restaurateurs, craftsmen, freight forwarders, other entrepreneurs as well as families and pensioners.

Several speeches under the motto “Small businesses stand up!” are expected.

According to KVR, 35,000 to 50,000 participants are registered.

The demonstration follows a whole series of protests that have dominated the state capital in recent weeks: Only on Monday, January 8th, around 8,000 farmers and their supporters traveled to Munich in tractors, paralyzing inner-city traffic.

A few days later, on Friday, January 12th, a demonstration by truck drivers followed.

Most recently, the demonstration against the right last Sunday, January 21st, exceeded all expectations: According to the organizers, more than 200,000 participants flocked to the victory gate, the police spoke of around 100,000.

Another large demonstration is planned on Theresienwiese on Sunday.

One of the organizers is crane operator Markus Huber (ul).

Next large demonstration in Munich on the Theresienwiese: “The middle class stands up!”

With the now announced “Hand in Hand for our Country” demonstration, the organizers say they are reacting to planned political measures.

These include the abolition of agricultural diesel subsidies, toll increases in transport, CO2 taxes and the already implemented increase in VAT in the catering industry.

But topics such as affordable housing, combating poverty in old age and reducing bureaucracy should also be discussed.

Markus Huber, a 37-year-old crane entrepreneur from Bad Feilnbach, is organizing the rally.

He emphasized to our newspaper: "We want to move away from the idea that it's just about farmers or just truck drivers, it really affects everyone." That's why the organizers are advertising with the slogan "You're not a farmer and you're still angry?" the broadest possible participation.

In doing so, one “clearly distances oneself from any left and right instrumentalization”.
