Highlights: “Bonjour!” recorded its worst audience with 214,000 people, or 6.5% of the public on January 19. “I don't know who could imagine for a moment that we would beat “Télématin” at the end of three days,” Bruce Toussaint told Sud Radio. The TF1 morning show is aiming to establish a base of viewers between 250,000 and 300,000, he said. "Hopefully, little by little we will climb, I “Hopefully, the echelons,” he added.

Guest of Sud Radio, the journalist considered it “grotesque” to compare the scores recorded by “Bonjour!”, the TF1 morning show, with those of the France 2 show.

Since Monday January 8,

Bruce Toussaint

has been officiating every morning in

“Bonjour!”

.

The premiere of the TF1 morning show aroused great curiosity among viewers.

In fact, there were 512,000 people, or 15.3% audience share, to follow the beginnings of the journalist and his sixteen columnists.

But the next day, the show dropped to 292,000 viewers, or 8.7% PDA.

On January 19, the morning show recorded its worst audience with 214,000 people, or 6.5% of the public.

“Audiences are up compared to last season

,” Bruce Toussaint analyzed this Wednesday at Sud Radio.

From the start, the 50-year-old journalist has been perfectly aware of the difficulty of setting up a morning show, in particular because of the presence opposite “Télématin”.

“The audiences are actually lower than those of France 2

,” underlined Valérie Expert.

“That is to say, they are 40 years ahead, so that’s true... I’m willing, but we’ve done thirteen shows.

They must have made 40,000

, reacted Bruce Toussaint

.

I don't mind people comparing us, it's completely normal and that's the game. Finally, we have to be a little serious, I don't know who could imagine for a moment that we would beat “Télématin” at the end of three days.

Sorry, but it’s grotesque!”

, he added.

If the journalist considered

the question from the Sud Radio listener

“good”

“because he does not compare”

, he was keen to ensure that he did not feel disappointed at doing less well than “Télématin”.

“We are on the right track, we are moving forward, we are first establishing a sort of base of viewers between 250,000 and 300,000 people, which is already colossal at that time and then, little by little we will climb, I “Hopefully, the echelons

,” he said.

And to conclude:

“In any case, we are working hard on it.

We have a huge team who do crazy work, who get up at 2 a.m. and who want to make the best proposal every day, the best offer, so we work like crazy.”
