The US has created a special communication channel through which it receives information from Israel about incidents in which Palestinian civilians have been killed or civilian facilities have been attacked - so reports Reuters based on a conversation with two American officials.

According to the report, the channel was established earlier this month, following a meeting of Secretary of State Anthony Blinken with members of the War Cabinet.
During the meeting, Blinken voiced concern in the face of the "constant reports" of Israeli attacks that caused large casualties or damaged civilian facilities.
Blinken asked to build a special communication channel where the US could inquire with Israel about sensitive events. Since then, the US has brought up every problematic incident on the new channel.
According to a senior American official, in some cases Israel admitted mistakes, in others it provided information that was not visible before.
In the meantime, against the background of the growing discourse on the sexual abuse suffered by captive women, Premila Patten, the UN Under-Secretary-General for Combating Sexual Violence in Conflict Areas, announced this evening that she will visit Israel next week with Israeli Ambassador to the UN Gilad Erdan. Behind the visit there was a diplomatic effort of Ambassador Arden in front of UN officials so that the incidents of sexual violence by Hamas remain a priority of the international community, especially in the background of the lack of condemnation from international women's organizations.

Her visit will include gathering facts and information about the sexual violence perpetrated by Hamas terrorists on October 7, and she will be accompanied by a professional team that will have access to information and data from the authorities.
