The awarding of the district's art prizes on Wednesday evening was a humorous ceremony with lots of good music.

In the foyer of the district office, some previously unpublished works by honorary letter holder Iring ten Noever de Brauw will be on display in the coming months.

Bad Tölz-Wolfratshausen – “The diversity of human creativity is endless,” said District Administrator Josef Niedermaier at the beginning of his speech.

Culture is enriching and “sometimes throws us back on ourselves.”

At the same time, it should also broaden the perspective.

The fact that the painter and sculptor Iring ten Noever de Brauw is showing unpublished works for the first time at the exhibition in the district office is “a great honor” for the authority.

First, the sponsorship award was presented, which Elisabeth Hinterholzer will receive this year.

The 26-year-old has been the conductor of the Holzhausen music band since 2018 as well as the district conductor in the Isar-Mangfall district of the Music Association of Upper and Lower Bavaria (MON) and is also the youth orchestra director there.

In his laudatory speech, Münsing's mayor Michael Grasl attested to her “hard work, courage, talent and empathy” when he listed her impressive music resume.

“Lisi has achieved everything that is possible in the amateur music sector,” said Grasl, referring to Hinterholzer’s qualifications.

The 26-year-old thanked her parents and family with emotion

With a smile, he reported how the young woman had made a surprise appearance as an alphorn soloist in a beer tent, and, above all, how committed Hinterholzer was to young people.

“It brings the youth together,” he said, and spoke of the “cool brass music movement.”

You can learn a lot, but you also have to live it authentically, he praised Hinterholzer.

The 26-year-old was very touched by the eulogy.

Visibly moved, she thanked her parents and family in a short speech, who had always supported her.

Afterwards there was of course music, both Bavarian and big band sound, with members of the Holzhausen music band and “Tromposound”, who received the art sponsorship award ten years ago.

Strong quotes from the art awards ceremony

“To all the musicians who play in all-male bands and think that’s good: you don’t know what you’re missing!”

District Administrator Josef Niedermaier, himself a clarinetist in the Tölz town band, about the fact that some bands still have difficulty accepting women.

“It’s a brand across the county.”

Laudator Michael Grasl about Elisabeth Hinterholzer.

“You let me go my way without complaining.”

Actor Stefan Murr thanks his parents.

“Stefan, how long will you be playing Aiwanger at Nockherberg?”

District Administrator Josef Niedermaier on the “Murr curse”: All other politicians that Murr portrayed in the Singspiel disappeared from the political stage a short time later.

“Now let me explain to you how to pronounce my name.”

Painter Iring ten Noever de Brauw at the beginning of his thanksgiving.

Music played a big role that evening anyway.

Not only from the cultural funding award winner, but also from the formation “Brass da la Vista” as well as from songwriter Julia Pöckl and guitarist Leonhard Schwarz.

Braun: Murr is a “creative jack of all trades”

The roles in which actor Stefan Murr (47) has shone in recent years became clear in small video recordings - for example in the film "The Emperor", in which Murr played Beckenbauer manager Robert Schwan.

The eulogy for him was given by Heinz-Josef Braun, with whom Murr has worked for 15 years and writes fairy tale radio plays for children in Bavarian.

The ninth play, “Bavarian Red Riding Hood,” will appear in the fall.

Working with Murr is very inspiring because: “His inventiveness as an author knows no limits.”

Numerous guests from across the district came to the district office for the celebration.

With regard to film, television and theater, Braun praised Murr as a “creative jack-of-all-trades”: He was someone who tried to match his character and let his personality shine.

Murr has a “sensitive style of play,” said Braun.

He noticed this over 20 years ago when he first saw Murr on the stage of the “Komödiostadel” during a private theater visit.

Murr then thanked them with emotion, and of course the two actors also had an interlude ready - a song to sing along to from their new play, which caused a lot of amusement in the hall.

De Brauw (85) still stands in the studio almost every day

The art historian and cultural journalist Katja Sebald should actually have spoken about the work of the cultural honorary letterman Iring ten Noever de Brauw.

However, she was ill, and so Katrin von Canal from the “Seeresidenz Seeshaupt” stepped in and read Sebald’s tribute.

However, Canal has known the painter and sculptor himself for over 20 years and gave him a few personal words.

It is admirable that de Brauw (85) still works in the studio almost every day even in his ninth decade, says von Canal.

At the moment he is mainly working on paper cuts.

Iring ten Noever de Brauw not only received the certificate from District Administrator Niedermaier, but - like all honorary postmen in recent years - a caricature by Hans Reiser (art prize winner 2012).

De Brauw was very happy.

“Today is a special day for me.

“I didn’t expect this award and I’m very happy,” said the 85-year-old.
