Highlights: The police officer who refused to take the complaint from Chloé, 24, in Blois (Loir-et-Cher) in December 2022, before her attack, was automatically retired. The sanction, effective since November 1, was decided by the Director General of the National Police. Such a sanction results in the immediate dismissal of civil service executives, but also the loss of civil servant status, as well as loss of salary. The victim's former companion, for his part, admitted to having hit her in the head, but denied having intended to kill her.

Two hours before her attack, Chloé presented herself at the reception of the Blois police station where she was invited to return

The case illustrated the failures of the State in dealing with violence against women.

The police officer who refused to take the complaint from Chloé, 24, in Blois (Loir-et-Cher) in December 2022, before her attack, was automatically retired, according to information from RTL, confirmed in Parisian.

The sanction, effective since November 1, was decided by the Director General of the National Police (DGPN).

What does this automatic retirement consist of?

Such a sanction results in the immediate dismissal of civil service executives, but also the loss of civil servant status, as well as loss of salary.

The consequences are, however, limited for the 54-year-old major, points out RTL: the man was able to request the immediate opening of his retirement rights.

A measure possible from the age of 52 for police officers.

However, the agent's pension will remain reduced by at least two years of contributions, the threshold being set at a minimum of 57 years for police officers for a full pension.

“A symbolic sanction”

The fact remains that for Chloé's entourage, this sanction does not match the seriousness of the facts.

“An early retirement of a man who is on the eve of retirement is for me a symbolic sanction in such a serious case where there have been a lot of police shortcomings,” commented to the radio , Isabelle Steyer, lawyer for Chloé and her mother.

The lawyer would also have liked sanctions against other police officers whom the young woman had met the day before her attack, begging them for a complaint to be taken.

The dramatic facts date back to the winter of 2022. On December 13, Chloé, 24, presented herself at the end of the afternoon at the reception of the Blois police station to file a complaint against her ex-partner .

A police officer present there then asked him to come back the next day.

Two hours later, she was violently attacked in her building lobby.

The young woman, who was in a coma for some time, lost an eye after this attack.

After the incident, the police officer was suspended from duty.

Then, once interviewed by the IGPN, he admitted not having questioned the young woman enough during his visit to the Blois police station.

A few months before this case, this same agent had already received a warning from his superiors for professional negligence.

The victim's former companion, for his part, admitted to having hit her in the head, but denied having intended to kill her.

The 28-year-old man has been indicted for attempted murder and is awaiting trial.
