The Reuters-IPSOS survey reveals great dissatisfaction with the two main contenders • The former president increases the margin over the incumbent president to six percentage points • 55% of Republicans: Trump should be sent to prison if convicted of the crimes attributed to him

Neither Biden nor Trump: 67% of Americans are tired of seeing the same faces and want a different candidate in the presidential race, according to a new Reuters-IPSOS poll.

However, only 18% of respondents said they would not vote at all if the choice was between Biden and Trump.

The proportion of Americans longing for an alternative to both Biden and Trump is similar to that found in the Harvard Harris poll published yesterday.

In the Reutersipsos poll, which was conducted from Monday to Wednesday this week and 1,250 people participated, it was also found that Trump receives 40% of support - compared to 34% of them for Biden (margin of error - 3%).

In the previous Reuters poll conducted a month ago, there was a tie between the two.

More in the findings: 70% of the respondents - including half of the Democrats - agreed that Biden should not try to be re-elected.

56% said the same about Trump, including a third of Republicans.

Biden's main problem is, not surprisingly, they found out: three quarters of Americans believe that the 81-year-old president is too old for another term in the White House.

Half of Americans said the same about the 77-year-old Trump.

The findings play to the advantage of Republican contender Nikki Haley (52), who is trying to take advantage of the age of Biden and Trump and is already plowing the next important battle arena, South Carolina.

"Most Americans do not want a rematch between Biden and Trump," she said Tuesday after losing to Trump in New Hampshire.

"The first rally to say goodbye to an 8-year-old candidate will be the party that wins."

It was also found that 56% of those who intend to vote for Biden, intend to do so mainly out of their opposition to Trump.

Those planning to vote for the former president are less motivated by the negation of the opponent: 39% said that their vote for Trump was actually a vote against the current president.

Another interesting detail that emerged in the survey: 55% of Republicans believe that Trump should be imprisoned if he is convicted of the crimes attributed to him.

Trump, who faces 91 charges in four different cases, claims that he should receive immunity for actions he did (or did not do) while serving as president.
