Mamady K. was banned from appearing at the home of his partner, Amélie
(the first name has been changed)
, following a particularly violent episode that occurred in June 2023. He had tried to strangle her with the shower hose.
But, Amélie “has nurse syndrome”, as Camille Colpaert, deputy prosecutor, at the Compiègne court pointed out this Thursday.
She grants him the right to see his children again and finally, they get back together in September.
Despite several episodes of violence, she accepted him into her apartment, a ground floor in Cambronne-lès-Ribécourt.
He had spilled a bottle of alcohol on her
On December 4, an argument broke out in the morning.
The couple has nothing left in the fridge to feed the children.
The 38-year-old man breaks the kitchen door and leaves.
He returns at the end of the day.
The little ones are in the living room, the eldest daughter in her bedroom.
The parents close the kitchen door because the situation is getting worse.
They have been drinking and the slaps are flying.
Mamady threatens Amélie with a kitchen gun, shakes her, almost strangles her, throws her to the ground, slams her head against the ground, punches her and pours a bottle of alcohol on her.
Amélie, bleeding, slaps him but that is not enough.
She screams, asks her daughter to call the police.
Her 13-year-old son hears the screams and grabs his cell phone, but Mamady breaks it.
She “pityed” him
Amélie drags herself along the ground to her neighbor's house where she finds refuge.
All along her journey, she leaves traces of blood, on the front door, in the hallway... Her oldest son will wipe off some of it before the police arrive.
The soldiers then discovered Amélie on the ground, unconscious.
Her partner fled through the window.
He was found a few days later, in Paris, not far from his mother's home where he was to be accommodated.
Mamady defends herself: “When we argue, we close the door for the children.
Since I have been with her, I have been under psychological pressure.
But I'm not proud of what I did.
»
At the bar of the court, Amélie assures that she no longer wants this relationship.
She “pityed” him when he came back: “He wanted to see the children.”
And yes, sometimes she didn't let it happen.
“But at times, he was my best friend…”, she sighs.
Mamady was sentenced to three years in prison, one year of which was suspended.
His previous sentence was revoked.
He will therefore have to spend 32 months in detention.
Upon his release, he will no longer have to contact his family or appear at their home and will wear an anti-reconciliation bracelet.
