Boston divorce and settlement attorney Tyler Summers revealed why young people shouldn't get married in their 20s and set TikTok on fire in a 26-second TikTok video with 3.5 million views, explaining why young people should wait until they're at least 30 to formalize the relationship.
"In your 20s, you're still looking for yourself," Summer said in the video.
"At that age you have no idea what you want long term."
Summers believes that people in their 30s have a better understanding of themselves, when it comes to financial stability: "People who get married for the first time in their 30s are already in a more advanced position in their careers," he added.
"They may have some money, they're certainly more mature, and more ready to have a long-term committed relationship, what's more, the person you marry at 21 may be a completely different person at 28," states Summers.

Statistics prove that there is something to it - couples who marry in their 20s have a 50% higher chance of getting divorced than couples who wait until they are older, according to a study by Psychology Today, in which the conclusion is that the best age to marry and last is between 28 and -32.
But since when can you confuse Tiktok commenters with facts?
Both married and divorced people flooded his feed with comments, and a quick read reveals that they have difficulty with this statement: "Marrying younger also makes you grow together and shape up together," claimed one woman, "I got married at 21 and don't regret it. We grew up together."
