“I think that saying that the Constitution should not be the receptacle of social rights and rights and freedoms, I think that that is an error,”
declared Yaël Braun-Pivet during his wishes to the press at the Hôtel de Lassay.
She was invited to react to statements by her counterpart in the Upper House, Gérard Larcher, who said he was opposed on Tuesday to the inclusion of voluntary termination of pregnancy in the Constitution, believing that
"abortion is not not threatened in our country”
and that
“the Constitution is not a catalog of social and societal rights”
.
The Constitution organizes

,” she concluded.
Yaël Braun-Pivet had earlier engaged in a vibrant plea in favor of this inclusion of abortion in the Constitution, arguing that feminists around the world expected France to

The constitutionalization of abortion, promised by the President of the Republic, could be consecrated during a Congress of the two chambers on March 5, but several LR officials have expressed their reluctance to the formulation chosen by the executive.
The government's text plans to include in the Constitution the fact that
“the law determines the conditions under which the freedom guaranteed to women to have recourse”
to abortion is exercised.
Yaël Braun-Pivet also claimed to have started with the President of the Senate
