In the background of the storm created around the Haaretz newspaper's revelation about the consultation between Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu's office and the chief military censor, Lt. Col. Kobi Mandelblit regarding the approval of the release of the recordings of the meeting with the families of the abductees, this evening (Thursday) the Prime Minister's Office issued a clarification notice, which is in fact a notice denial.
"Contrary to the publication, there was no consultation between the Prime Minister's Office and the censor before the publication of the recordings of the Prime Minister's meeting with the representatives of the kidnapped families, and the Prime Minister's Office did not approve the publication."
According to them, the claims are false and the bureau did not record, approve or act to distribute the recordings.

As a reminder, earlier it was published in "Haaretz" that the chief military censor, Lt. Col. Kobi Mandelblit, consulted with the Prime Minister's Office on the question of whether to allow the publication of the recording of Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu's conversation with the families of the abductees, in which he spoke condemning Qatar, and the office supported this.
In the recordings, Netanyahu can be heard criticizing Qatar in a conversation with the families of the abductees.
"Qatar is essentially no different from the United Nations.
It is no different in essence from the Red Cross and in a way it is even more problematic - I have no illusions about them." His words provoked outrage in Qatar, which strongly condemned them.
