The security crisis in the Red Sea has caused 8.8 billion euro in damage to Italian foreign trade since November 2023, self-employed craftsmen and artisans group Confartigianato said on Thursday.


   This is the equivalent of 95 million euros a day, of which 35 million euros in lost exports and 60 million euros in lost supplies.


   The impact of disruptions in the Red Sea due to attacks againstcivilian ships by Iran-backed Houthi rebels in Yemen will be felt particularly in the northern regions of Lombardy, EmiliaRomagna, Veneto, Tuscany, Piedmont and Friuli Venezia Giulia, which transport goods respectively worth 12.9 billion euro, 9.4 billion euro, 5.7 billion euro, 4.7 billion euro, 4.2 billion euro and 2 billion euro through one of the world's busiestshipping lanes.
