In Valmorel in the Belluno area, the 'place of the heart' of Elserino Piol, father of venture capital in Italy and pioneer of new technologies, an ambitious project with an international scope is born, the Elserino Piol Foundation which to call an 'incubator' is an understatement.
The project, made possible by the commitment of his sons Andrea and Alessandro, aims to use technology and research as key tools for the creation of a cutting-edge hub for the development of innovative projects in the hospitality, agricultural and mobility sectors. sustainable.
The objective is to transform the small town in the pre-Alps where Piol was born into a laboratory of ideas (Laborel) and then replicate these experiences in similar territories in Italy.
At the center there will be young people, "without whom - underlines Alessandro recalling some of his father's 'mantras' - innovation cannot exist" and "the technology that allows us to reconquer the most unfortunate Italian territories (morphologically, ed.), as a driving force for new projects ".
Starting from the Piol family's investment of around 500 thousand euros, the Foundation launches an invitation to private investors to participate, through their contribution and the funds that will be raised by participating in public tenders, and has estimated a three-year budget of 2.5 million euros.
"The Foundation is an ambitious initiative that promises to breathe new life into a community that in recent years has seen its talents abandon their territory of origin towards large centres. The project, with its bold vision, underlines the importance of putting that integrated approach where innovation, tradition and respect for the environment come together to create a unique model of sustainable development" comments Andrea Piol, son of Elserino Piol.
