A place for a romantic date: The Claudius Therme in Cologne probably no longer wants to be that.
A new rule in the house rules is being rigorously implemented.
Cologne – Who doesn’t know it?
These couples who are fooling around in the water at the swimming pool, making out wildly and can't keep their hands off each other.
“Find a room,” is what they often hear.
Even at the Claudius Therme in Cologne there was apparently more than just rolling of eyes among the other bathers.
As
Bild
reports, complaints from people of all ages and backgrounds reached the management of the swimming pool.
So the thermal baths responded with a new rule in the house rules.
The Claudius-Therme thermal bath in Cologne doesn't want to be a romantic ambience.
In any case, tenderness is no longer allowed to be exchanged here.

This states clearly: “Please keep the exchange of affection to a minimum.
It is completely forbidden in the sauna cabins, whirlpools, thermal baths and water pools, etc. So that no bather can avoid noticing the new rule, the ban is also written in white on black in a wooden frame in two places in the Claudios Therme - at the main pool and on the hot-cold grotto.
No exchange of caresses: the ban is starting to have an impact
“Dear guests, please refrain from exchanging any kind of affection,” the bathroom management says to the guests.
The reasoning is just below: “You may not realize it, but you are harassing and compromising other guests when you exchange intimacy in public.”
According to a thermal bath employee's statement in
Bild
, the ban also seems to be having its first effects.
The lovebirds then behaved more reservedly.
The new rule is being hotly debated on social media.
While some people are annoyed by it, there are also some amused voices on X.
“Attorney Gelabber” posts a picture of the prohibition signs with the headline: “You’re not allowed to do anything anymore, hey”.

The wording of the house rules can probably be argued.
Limiting the exchange of affection to a minimum leaves the question open as to when such an exchange begins.
Is a hug already too much, as was the case in Vienna at the beginning of January, or is it about every little smack?
In the small picture in the wooden frame, it seems as if a disturbing kiss is the end of a visit to the thermal baths.
