The smell was not deceptive: the Geretsried police officers found that the driver who was being checked had a breath alcohol level that was too high.

During a general traffic stop on a 59-year-old, police officers discovered alcohol.

The Dietramszeller is being investigated.

Dietramszell – Patrol officers from the Geretsried police station demonstrated a good instinct last Thursday.

According to a police report, they carried out a traffic stop on a 59-year-old driver in the Bairawies district of Dietramszell late in the evening.

The officers noticed the smell of alcohol.

The 59-year-old from Dietramszell then agreed to a breath alcohol test.

The result: 1.1 per mille.

According to their own statements, the Geretsried police officers confiscated the Dietramszeller's driver's license and prevented him from continuing his journey.

A ride in the police car later, the 59-year-old's blood was taken at a local hospital.

The driver is now being investigated for drunk driving.
