Camping holidays are very popular with travelers.
You don't necessarily have to go abroad to find a good campsite.
Instead of going to a hotel or holiday home, many holidaymakers are heading back into their motorhome and out into nature this year.
Camping is no longer just a popular form of travel in summer, but also in winter.
If you don't want to drive too far, the campsites in Germany are also a good choice.
At the camping.info Award 2024, three places in the Federal Republic made it into the top 10 in Europe.

The camping.info Award is an audience award that
is presented annually by the camping portal
camping.info .
This year, more than 135,000 reviews on the platform, submitted by over 73,000 camping holidaymakers, served as the basis.
The focus is on general guest satisfaction as well as the number and timeliness of reviews.
There were over 23,000 campsites from 44 European countries to choose from, from which a top 100 ranking was then created.
In Germany, campsites on the Baltic Sea in particular performed well with visitors.

In 2024, a German campsite can look forward to taking pole position - for the fourth time in a row, Campingpark Kühlungsborn in Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania.
The Camping Sonnenland Lutzmannsburg and the Camping Natural Hell follow in second and third place.
in Austria.
There are also two other German campsites in the top 10: Rosenfelder Strand Ostsee Camping and Ostseecamping Familie Heide.

In general, the local campsites can look forward to very good guest reviews: 72 of the top 100 are in Germany.
The rest are in Austria (19), Italy (7) and Switzerland (2).
The Eifel Camp Freilinger See in North Rhine-Westphalia (51st place) can boast of being the highest climber in the ranking, and one of the best newcomers is the Pullman Camping in Bavaria (37th place).
