for mid-career teachers.
“I am really keen that we manage to address the issue of unreplaced absences until the end, and particularly those of short duration
,” declared the minister in a speech presenting her roadmap, delivered Thursday at the Sorbonne in front of the academy rectors and sent to the press on Friday.
“We need to go further and resolve this problem in all its ‘completeness’
,” she adds.
Amélie Oudéa-Castéra was strongly criticized as soon as she took office for having justified
the transfer of her children to the private sector by
“lots of unreplaced hours” in public school.
Her eldest son's former teacher denied her alleged absences.
In her speech, the minister mentions
“different development scenarios”
which
“are currently being studied”
.
“I will propose to the Prime Minister, in the coming days, the most effective system to achieve this objective
. ”
Roadmap
Regarding the attractiveness of the teaching profession, the minister indicates that it
“in particular involves the overhaul of initial training, with the objective of advancing the competitive examination to bac + 3”
, a reform on which announcements are expected soon.
“But of course it’s also about financial recognition.
And we will work together, in particular on the revaluation of career environments
,” adds Amélie Oudéa-Castéra.
Increases in teachers' salaries, particularly at the start of their careers, were announced last year, but this project has not been reopened since, despite requests from the unions.
She addressed the teaching of mathematics, a priority for the government: she calls on teachers who wish to
“organize, during the short holidays in February and spring, as well as this summer, successful courses dedicated to mathematics and sciences »
for 3rd grade students.
As for theater in college - which must become
