Despite the quarrels at the Erfurt Theater, the city is sticking with General Director Montavon for the time being.
He had recently been placed on leave.
Now the exemption should be repealed - provided the city council agrees.
Erfurt - According to the wishes of the Erfurt city leaders, Guy Montavon should remain general director of the theater until the end of the season.
By then, a new structure should be created and this office eliminated.
The exemption from his duties will not be maintained, informed Mayor Andreas Bausewein (SPD) on Friday.
There were “unpleasant and sometimes difficult to understand situations”.
However, none of the suspicions are so serious that labor law action is necessary.
The decision still depends on the approval of the city council.
Montavon was placed on leave a week ago.
The city justified this with the investigation report from a Berlin law firm.
The background to the report are allegations of alleged sexual assault and alleged abuse of power at the Erfurt Theater.
For the time being, it was not known who the allegations were specifically directed against, nor was the extent of the allegations.
According to the city, the organization of the theater is to be fundamentally renewed.
This includes a change in the organizational structure.
It was said that the office of general manager would be eliminated.
After the end of his general directorship at the end of the current season, Montavon should support the further transformation of the house in an advisory capacity.
In 2020, the city council decided to extend his contract until 2027.
