The 18-year-old, who is said to have killed a student of the same age in St. Leon-Rot near Heidelberg, was supposed to no longer run into his victim after the school intervened.
The school coordinated with the police after the student reported assault last year, communications expert Dirk Metz said on Friday at the community's town hall.
St. Leon-Rot - Metz was commissioned by the school in the matter.
After careful consideration, agreements were made that the two people “would not meet if possible,” said Metz.
“That was the main goal.” Ultimately, everyone involved had the impression that things had calmed down.
“There is no such thing as 100 percent security.” dpa
