Union coach Nenad Bjelica is suspended for three games for grabbing Leroy Sané's face.
It is unclear who will represent him.
The club is buying itself some time.
Berlin - 1. FC Union Berlin has postponed its press conference planned for Friday by one day following the suspension of coach Nenad Bjelica for unsportsmanlike conduct.
The press conference before the relegation duel against SV Darmstadt 98 on Sunday will now take place on Saturday at 1 p.m., the Köpenick team announced on Friday morning.
Union said they wanted to discuss the proceedings surrounding the game on Sunday in peace so that all questions could be answered.
The club did not say who was taking part in the press conference.
According to the DFL statutes, clubs are allowed to second players, coaches or those responsible.
During the catch-up game at Bayern Munich, Bjelica caught national player Leroy Sané with his hand in the face during an argument on the sidelines.
He was punished with a red card and suspended for three games on Thursday.
Union has not yet announced who will represent the Croatians on the sidelines in these games.
His assistant coaches Nino Bule, Danijel Jumic and Marie-Louise Eta are eligible.
The 32-year-old Eta would be the first woman to act as head coach in a men's Bundesliga game.
According to dpa information, this decision only has to be made formally on Sunday around an hour before kick-off.
Similar to the line-up, in which eleven professionals are chosen for the starting eleven, a responsible coach is then named.
After the game against Darmstadt on Sunday (3:30 p.m./DAZN), the Berliners will play at RB Leipzig the following weekend before another catch-up game against table neighbors FSV Mainz 05 on February 7th.
