For the ninth time, the women's association had invited the “Aktion Hope” mobile carnival market to Bad Heilbrunn.

The campaign was once again a complete success.

Bad Heilbrunn – The almost 150 visitors were able to choose from more than 2,000 used carnival costumes and accessories.

From classic princess dresses to unusual superhero costumes, there was something for every taste.

The event took place in the St. Kilian parish hall.

Visitors could not only browse to their heart's content, but also make a contribution to a good cause.

Every year, several tons of carnival costumes end up in the “Aktion Hope” used clothing containers.

In January these will be sold at several stations at mobile carnival markets.

The second-hand markets thus combine the ecological approach to fashion with a good cause.

“The executive team of the Bad Heilbrunn Women's Association provides space and staff, but 100 percent of the proceeds then go to the campaign's projects,” said Marion Seiler from the Women's Association, explaining the concept.

Children's costumes were a hit

In addition to the costumes, there was also a large selection of accessories such as hats, masks and jewelry.

Visitors were able to equip themselves for the carnival from head to toe and let their creativity run wild.

“I found out about the carnival market through friends’ WhatsApp status.

I only know of a second-hand costume market like this here.

And with the large selection, you’re sure to find something,” said a Lenggries resident.

Claudia Schermann from Königsdorf was particularly happy about the children's costumes: “Carnival only lasts a few days a year, and next year the children will have outgrown them again.

I’m pleased that there is such an opportunity to not have to buy panels so expensively.”

The organizers were also very satisfied with how the market went: “We were pleased that so many people were there.

The carnival market is a great opportunity to reuse used costumes and at the same time support social projects,” says Marion Seiler.

“If you would like to donate your old carnival costumes again, you can throw them into the organization’s used clothing container.

At next year's markets there will definitely be someone who will be happy about it.

The cycle starts again.” (Maria Blöckner)
