The bicycle racks at Buchenau train station will be removed in the coming days.
The city administration announced this in a letter.
Fürstenfeldbruck – However, the old stands do not end up in the scrapyard – they are used sustainably.
Accordingly, the metal brackets located in the green strip next to the sidewalk parallel to the train tracks will be dismantled.
At this point, 60 new, covered bicycle racks are to be built in double-decker facilities in the spring or summer.
The decision to build these facilities, which are funded as part of the bike-and-ride offensive by Deutsche Bahn and the Federal Environment Ministry, was made in October 2021 by the Committee for the Environment, Transport and Civil Engineering.
The old row hangers will continue to be used and made available to visitors and employees of the town hall branch at Niederbronnerweg 3.
The administration is asking all cyclists at the affected location to park their bikes at the other bike racks from now on.
