The year is off to a good start for the Seine-Eure urban community.
On the occasion of his wishes, the president of the community, Bernard Leroy, finally announced that Hermès was going to set up a new site in Pîtres (Eure), on the 15 hectares of the Bonna Sabla industrial wasteland, disused since the middle of the 2010s.
“We have owned it since 2020 after reaching an agreement with this group specializing in prefabricated concrete which designed curbs, pipes... And since then, we have been looking for the right project to fit with this very tourist site, near the dam of Poses and the hill of the Deux-Amants”.
The information has since been confirmed by Hermès, which will create a unit there dedicated to its perfume-related activity.
The milestone of a thousand jobs
Often requested for the establishment of companies in an urban area located on the Seine axis and close to the Paris region, Bernard Leroy is visibly delighted to continue working with the French luxury house which already has four other establishments in its territory. with two leather goods factories (in Val-de-Reuil since 2017 and in Louviers since last year), a school of know-how (still in Louviers) and the Hermès Parfums site which opened its doors in Vaudreuil in 1977.

“In total, this already represents between 800 and 900 jobs in our sector.
And with this new opening, we should exceed the 1,000 mark, even if it is still too early to know how many hires are planned.”
Because for now, the new owner of the premises is just beginning the process of submitting the building permit.
And remains discreet about the amount of investments and the timetable.
“But we already know that the building will be of high environmental quality,” assures the elected official who hopes that the project can be completed by 2026.
