On the last day of the shiva for his brother Yossi, Sharon Sharabi decided to convene the media and issue a statement.

He did not wait even for one day's profit.

He knows he doesn't have that time, not when his other brother, Eli, is being held by Hamas men in the Gaza Strip.

Every moment in the last few months, Sharon has been fighting and he does not intend to deviate from the path on the way to return both of them to Israel.

"I got right back up because I still have Eli that I have to fight for. The war will not stop until he and the last of the kidnapped return. Even if he returns, even if there are only corpses left, I will continue to fight," promises Sharon.

"I get up from Shabbat and tell myself that I'm wearing a helmet and a helmet and I'm going to fight for the value of the sanctity of life by 200%.

History will judge us by how we behaved, and certainly the decision makers, if they succeeded in rescuing hostages or failed.

Although they rescued many abductees alive, they also failed - with my brother Yossi, with others who are no longer alive."

The brothers Eli and Yossi left Tel Aviv about 30 years ago and moved to a cooperative lifestyle in Kibbutz Bari.

Yossi, 53 years old, worked in printing, married Nira and they had three daughters - Yuval, Ofir and Oren.

Eli, 51 years old, became a businessman, married Leanne, and gave birth to two daughters with her, Noya and Hiel.

As in the lives preceding October 7, on Black Sabbath the fate of the brothers was similar, when they were both kidnapped to the Gaza Strip.

But there is a gaping chasm between the houses they left behind.

It is the difference that emphasizes the depth of the tragedy.

Eli lost his entire family in the killing spree in Bari, and Yossi's family, which was miraculously saved with the help of Nira's resourcefulness, lost him when he was murdered in Hamas captivity.

On one side a father without a wife and children, on the other side a wife and children without a father.

Like a memory game whose parts are lost and cannot be matched.

The bitter news hit the family last week.

First, the IDF officers arrived at their home and announced that they were "very troubled" by Yossi's medical condition, "following the events at the place where he was held". The announcement came alongside a video released by Hamas of Sharabi, Itay Sabirsky and Noa Argamani, in which it was said that an update on their condition would be released later. In the video that followed it became known that the two men were murdered.

"We knew it was over, not only because of what we saw in the video," says Sharon, and clarifies: "The very fact that the abductees were dragged into a combat zone is a war crime. If an IDF bomb falls there it doesn't matter, the one who took them was Hamas and he murdered them.

It doesn't matter whose ball it was and how it happened in the end.

" "The loss of Yossi is very difficult," he shares. "He will no longer return to his daughters, his wife and our mother who were madly expecting him to return.

This is a hard blow for us.

After Ofir Engel and Amit Shani returned and told that they were with him, who was like a father to them and shared with them the little food they had, he gave half of the pita he had received.

We said he's alive, standing on his feet, surviving it.

This just proves how critical time is and our warnings to the government and the world are correct.

Yossi's time is up.

The case should not be repeated for additional abductees, and there are those who are no longer alive, and are being abused, raped and starved, in the face of captors who have no problem taking the life of a human being at the moment."

"They should have exhausted the deal and taken it at the first moment.

Now the prices are much higher.

We could have saved a lot more.

As time goes by, there are fewer hostages alive," Sharon emphasizes. Still, despite the great anger, he weighs his words with nobility, not wanting to burn down the club. "Going against someone will not bring Yossi back nor will it be good for the fighters who are still there and are doing everything to save the hostages .

The last thing you need is to hurt the wind.

The families of the abductees should show responsibility and carefully consider the words they utter in the middle of their campaign, because there are people who listen to these things.

In the end, the disaster is not only for the Sharabi family, it is for the entire nation of Israel."

He already knows how to convey a message.

On normal days he works in the purchasing department at Bank Hapoalim, in the past months he has become an interview machine.

His whole schedule revolves around his brother.

"I am engaged in negotiations, but here it is a negotiation about the rights of souls. For me, it is an expression of mutual guarantee. If I were required to do it for others, I would do it from morning to night."

The tragedy forced him to stop for a moment and grieve, but he only gave himself the minimum time necessary, no more.

"I changed the world even before the news about Yossi and I will change the world after as well," he promises.

"This struggle has strengths. We see the families blocking Ayalon, trucks with humanitarian supplies, in front of the Government House. We will step up when necessary and not just to disrupt routine."

"I want to believe that the leadership of Israel wants just as much as us to return them. And that it is willing to pay heavy prices as well, the price of the abductees is higher than anything the state will pay. If it is a cease-fire for a long period of time, that should definitely be taken into account. A war against Hamas is also possible A year. It's not that until now we've achieved Mitut Hamas, it's all false consciousness, we were sold that we'd be inside Gaza for a month, but we're going into a very long campaign. And rightly so."

On the other hand, he clarifies, "We see that military pressure is not the solution. In the maneuver we returned only one hostage. In the political maneuver 86. The dream in the heart of every soldier is to rescue a hostage, but it is a difficult and complex task that does not bring results. We tried the military way, it doesn't work, come on We will change strategy."

And he has one request for the people as well.

"Even I, as the closest brother, do not have the comforting words to tell Eli that his entire family, his wife and two daughters, were murdered, and that without his knowledge his brother was next to him and was murdered in captivity. They did not know about each other or about the fate of their families. Yossi did not know that Nira and the girls were alive, Eli does not know that his family was murdered. I would like the people of Israel to continue to embrace Eli and give him hope for a new life," he says.

"Containing such a disaster is not something that can be explained. He will need mental strength beyond the powers of nature and needs all the support possible."
