Summary.
Jonathan Coulom was almost 11 years old when he discovered the sea for the first time, during a school trip to Saint-Brevin-les-Pins (Loire-Atlantique) in March 2004. But one morning, the trip supervisors discovered Jonathan's bed empty.
His slippers and clothes are still there.
At first we think that he might have left the camp barefoot, in pajamas, in the middle of the night.
But the trail of running away does not fit with the boy's shy and fearful character.
Six weeks after his disappearance, his inert body was found bound hand and foot in a pond 30 km from the holiday camp.
The investigation stagnated for years, until a new lead emerged: that of a German child molester, Martin Ney.
In Crime story, journalist Clawdia Prolongeau recounts this investigation with Damien Delseny, head of the police-justice department of Le Parisien.
