Three people died in the early hours of this Saturday and three others were seriously injured in a head-on collision that occurred at 5:30 a.m. near the Madrid municipality of Rivas Vaciamadrid.
According to the first information from the Emergency services, a vehicle traveling in the opposite direction at kilometer 19 of the A-3 highway heading out of the capital collided with another.
In the first car there was only one person traveling, a 37-year-old man, who died instantly;
while in the second there were five people, two of whom—aged 23 and 26—had already died when the health services arrived.
The three injured had multiple injuries and their prognosis is serious.
This is a 27-year-old man who was transferred by Samur-Civil Protection to the Gregorio Marañón Hospital;
a 22-year-old man transferred by Summa112 to Ramón y Cajal;
and a 19-year-old woman transferred by Summa112 to La Paz.
Firefighters from the Community of Madrid carried out the necessary work to remove the three deceased from the vehicles and cleaned the road.
For its part, the Civil Guard has been in charge of investigating what happened and regulating traffic in the area.
Mourning
The Arganda del Rey City Council has decreed three days of official mourning after the death of two young people from the municipality, aged 23 and 26, the City Council reported in a statement.
In it he confirmed that the other three young people have been injured and are admitted to hospitals in the Community of Madrid.
The City Council wanted to show “the deepest pain” to the family and friends of the deceased, in addition to sending “all the encouragement in the world to those who have their children hospitalized because of the fatal accident,” the City Council itself reflected in a statement.
All the political groups of the municipal corporation have also wanted to show “maximum affection in these very complicated moments.”
