A 49-year-old from the Fürstenfeldbruck district had his wallet, cell phone and laptop stolen from his car in Munich.

But he had the right idea.

When he returned to his car in Pasing on Friday morning, the backpack was missing.

This contained a laptop, cell phone and wallet.

This emerges from the police report.

Thief didn't think about the location

The 49-year-old reported the theft to police station 45 (Pasing).

At around 1:20 p.m. the same day, the 49-year-old informed the police emergency number 110 that he had been able to locate his cell phone and was now pursuing the suspected perpetrator of the theft.

Officers from Police Station 14 (Westend) were able to find the 36-year-old suspect (without a permanent address) in the Arnulfstrasse area and temporarily arrest him.

The 36-year-old not only had the 49-year-old's cell phone with him, but also all the other stolen items.

The loot was secured.

The 36-year-old was brought before the investigating judge at the Munich police headquarters.
