The Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS) declared itself ready on Sunday in a press release to find
“a negotiated solution”
after the announcement of the withdrawal of the organization from Mali, Burkina Faso and Niger .
These three countries are
“important members of the Community”
which
“remains committed to finding a negotiated solution to the political impasse”
created by the announcement of their withdrawal on Sunday in a joint press release.
ECOWAS says it is still waiting for
“formal and direct notification”
of this decision.
