The Prime Minister, Benjamin Netanyahu, was interviewed last week by the American newspaper "The Wall Street Journal", and referred to Israel's fighting goals in the IDF and what are the achievements of our forces so far.
In his words to the newspaper, Netanyahu said that "the goals of the fighting are threefold: the destruction of Hamas, the release of all the abductees, some of whom are apparently dead, and ensuring the reality that the Gaza Strip will never again pose a threat to Israel."
In the interview, the Prime Minister estimated that the three goals are achievable, but they will take time.

Regarding the fact that the Gaza Strip will no longer be a nest of terrorism and extremist views, the Prime Minister said that the Strip must be placed under Israeli rule and that it must be cleansed of all the ideological poison it contains.
Netanyahu went on to say that the fighting in the Gaza Strip "is better than many in Israel expected. It should also be remembered that in order to cleanse Mosul of Daesh forces, it took the US-led coalition 9 months and it is a small city in the Gaza Strip, which did not have a large underground terrorist infrastructure."

Since the interview took place a day after the disaster in which the 21 fighters were killed, Netanyahu noted that Israel also has "difficult days in fighting. For us, every fall is a tragedy. We pay a heavy price for fighting and our goal is to reduce casualties among our forces and among the civilians in Gaza."
Netanyahu attacked those in the world who accuse Israel of committing crimes in the Strip, including the American campuses, and stated that this is "not only a problem for Israel but also for the United States. I am concerned about this situation because the United States is the pioneer of freedom and is the guarantee of freedom in this century and if an American generation arises that will support my firstborn Rushim is an insult to Western culture."

The prime minister also expressed his dismay that the US administration and the president "support our fight from day one and the fact that President Biden called Hamas a worse organization than ISIS."
He also expressed dismay at the ammunition that the US gives to Israel, the US's fight against the Houthis and the fact that it sent two aircraft carriers to the region as aid to Israel.

Netanyahu also spoke about the two-state solution and stated that the Palestinian Authority must not have weapons and must not have the possibility of forming alliances against Israel such as with Iran.
"The PA should have the power to control the area, but the security responsibility for the area west of Jordan should be Israel's, including in the Gaza Strip."
