Called to appoint their new leader on Tuesday, the 53 elected officials of the Changer Paris group will have never received as many letters and other WhatsApp messages as in recent days.
The replacement of Rachida Dati at the head of the group – after her entry into government and her exclusion from the Les Républicains party – sparked numerous epistolary exchanges.
After the letters of candidacy from Senator Catherine Dumas and the mayor of the 6th arrondissement, Jean-Pierre Lecoq, who would see themselves taking charge of the group, it was Rachida Dati herself who wrote to the elected officials.

“Since the start of this mandate, Catherine Dumas (as 1st vice-president) and Jean-Pierre Lecoq (in his capacity as president of the Health information and evaluation mission and rapporteur of the local urban planning plan for the group) were able to invest in the service of our group.
Their applications are both legitimate.
In order to favor continuity and unity, I will support the candidacy of Catherine Dumas for the presidency, and the immediate candidacy of Jean-Pierre Lecoq for the 1st vice-presidency, explains, in a message addressed to the 53 elected on Sunday, the new Minister of Culture.
For my part, I will be a candidate for vice-president, with your agreement, as our statutes allow.
