On Sunday, ARD and RTL fought an exciting ratings battle.

Who was able to win the audience’s favor – “Tatort” or the jungle camp?

Saarbrücken – Sunday evening is “Tatort” time: For many Germans, the crime thriller on the first is a must-see program.

But other TV channels also brought out the big guns at the weekend.

The romantic film “Inga Lindström – The Forgotten Wedding” was shown on ZDF at prime time on Sunday (January 28, 2024).

The jungle camp was shown on RTL.

“Tatort” in the ratings duel before “I am a star – get me out of here!”

RTL attracted viewers to their television screens with a new episode of “I’m a Star – Get Me Out of Here!” – things are slowly getting serious in the celebrity jungle.

ProSieben showed the blockbuster “Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker”, while Sat.1 broadcast the disaster film “San Andreas”.

But what about the ratings?

The Saarbrücken “Tatort” episode “The Curse of Money” was the winner in the battle of the TV channels.

9.05 million people tuned in to the crime thriller on the first.

This corresponds to a market share of 30.2 percent of the total audience – a strong result for ARD.

Head-to-head race: Jungle camp impresses the young audience

The jungle camp, on the other hand, was “only” seen by a total of 4.33 million viewers.

A different picture emerges when you look at the advertising-relevant target group between 14 and 49 years old.

Here “I'm a star – get me out of here!” was the day's winner with 1.77 million and a market share of 24.5 percent.

The RTL show can particularly delight young audiences.

But the competition was hot on the heels of the reality format.

“Tatort” follows in second place with a 22.9 percent market share (1.63 million).

This means that around 140,000 young viewers were more interested in the jungle camp than in the cult crime thriller.

But there was an important decision in “I’m a Star – Get Me Out of Here!”: A star had to leave the jungle camp.
