Less than a week has passed since the British Royal House announced that Princess Kate Middleton was hospitalized.
The reason for the hospitalization was vaguely defined as "scheduled abdominal surgery" and it was stated that Middleton would be hospitalized for up to two weeks and that she would not return to public activity at least until after Easter.

Naturally, when it comes to a public persona of Middleton's level (42), the great public interest and the lack of details prompted many rumors about her condition that flooded the network.
"William insisted on not publishing her medical information and content himself with the most basic information," a source close to the royal house told the People website.
"William and Kate would have preferred to keep the operation quiet, but felt that the public would want to know why Kate would be absent from public activities in the coming months."

Due to the ambiguity in the reports, many assumed that the surgery she underwent was a hysterectomy, this in light of the three difficult pregnancies she went through with her children in which she suffered from hyperemesis gravidarum (excessive vomiting).
Others claimed that it was probably a cancerous tumor.
Another popular belief was that Middleton, who displays a slim figure, had undergone a tummy tuck - a theory that others angrily dismissed as "ridiculous" given her slim figure, which she reportedly maintains with a healthy diet and fitness routine.
Other surfers chose to flood the net with heated discussions in which they insisted that Kate has been suffering from eating disorders for years, primarily bulimia, and this is the reason for her hospitalization and surgery.
This claim reportedly angered her husband, Prince William, as this is a particularly sensitive issue for him due to the fact that his late mother, Princess Diana, struggled with bulimia for years.

"He's furious when people claim that Kate has an eating disorder," sources told the gossip site In Touch Weekly.
"Obviously it worries him that they think that way. It's a sensitive issue for him because of what his mother had to go through."
Another theory raises the possibility that Kate underwent surgery to correct gastric reflux, a procedure that also came according to rumors following her three difficult pregnancies.

As for Kate's condition after the surgery, there are few details revealed to the public here as well, and from what has been published so far, it has been reported that Prince William is careful to monitor and care for their three children, who are the top priority of both of them.
At this stage, they have not yet been allowed to visit their mother and are content with Face Time conversations with her.
