The Central District Court today (Tuesday) sentenced the murderers of the late Nir Tsuriya in Petah Tikva to prison sentences of more than 20 years. The accused are Shlomo Bayich who received 23 years in prison, and Balai Kibra who received 21 years in prison. In addition, each of the defendants will pay NIS 200,000 in compensation to the members of the Tsaroya family.

According to the indictment, the defendants, who are friends, arrived on 9/23/21, shortly after 11:30 p.m., to stay at the sukkah at 6 Hagdan St. in Petach Tikva. and one of those present at the scene, Ephraim Abja, a fight developed in which the defendants beat Abja,

Abja tried to leave the place but the accused chased him, grabbed him, knocked him to the ground and kicked him while he was lying on the floor.

Until finally Abja managed to escape.

After that, Abja returned to the place in a car with three others, including the late Nir Tsaroya, in order to collect something he had left there. 

At this point, the accused went out together in a protest towards Abja, who at that point was standing on the other side of the road, with the aim of shooting him.

Kibera pulled a loaded gun from his pocket and menacingly approached Abja's direction, while demonstratively holding the gun.

Immediately afterwards he handed the gun to Bleich.

In between, the deceased got out of the vehicle and stayed near Abja.

Bleich fired a number of shots from the gun and two of the shots hit the late Zeruya who was staying near Abja.

In the sentencing, the judges stated: "In their actions, and out of a criminal indifference towards the most basic fundamental values ​​of society, the defendants fired a firearm at their opponent, due to some financial dispute that had just arisen, and after they had beaten him vigorously a short time before."

They also added: "With those actions, the two caused the death of the deceased, even if his presence at the scene was not completely random, since he arrived at the scene together with Abja, he did not take any active part in the conflict or confrontation between Abja and the defendants, and ended up not in his favor and through no fault of his own To the killing field. By putting an end to the life of the deceased, the defendants inflicted an unparalleled harm on the fundamental value of preserving human life, and forever changed the trajectory of the lives of his family members, as described in detail in the report submitted."
