A streetball field as well as a bouldering and fitness area: The green area at Oberwiesenfeld near the Olympic Park is to be redesigned.

These are the fun plans for Oberweisefeld.

There hasn't been much on offer in the green area of the southern Oberwiesenfeld.

But that should change.

The building department now presented the current status of the planning for the design of the 33,600 square meter area to the Neuhausen-Nymphenburg district committee (BA).

Landscape architects also plan inclusive play options

Gudrun Piesczek (CSU) is pleased: “This is wonderful news.

A new green space for Munich.” Since the area is directly adjacent to a residential area, the focus is on a large playground with a climbing tower and slide.

The landscape architecture firm “Studios Vulkan” is also planning a bouldering and fitness area, a streetball field and a drinking fountain.

There will be several inclusive games available across the area.

The long stable building for the barn swallows should remain in place.

The design of the planned paths is based on the Olympic Park.

The used natural stones should be reused.

Something will also happen on the so-called “towel plot” behind it: the landscape architects are planning a large lawn there.

BA politician would like to see fruit trees in the area

Piesczek finds “the entire planning very appealing, innovative and successful”.

All she has in mind is planting a few fruit trees.

“You can see the seasons so beautifully,” she explains.

Otherwise, the planning of the area was deliberately kept lean.

The offer should not represent competition to the adjacent Olympic Park, says Piesczek.

It is a supplement specifically for children and young people.

The plans for use are expected to be presented to the city council before the summer break.

The planned date for the renovation of the green space is 2025/26.
