A 49-year-old businessman was
shot dead at point-blank range
by criminals who
stole his truck
at the door of his house in the town of Pontevedra,
Merlo
district .
The man was about to leave with his family on vacation to
San Bernardo
this Wednesday morning when he was surprised by the criminals, who are at large.
The dramatic event occurred on Otamendi and Olaya streets, at the door of
Leonardo Antonio Quinteros
' house , where the businessman was preparing his car to go on vacation to the coast.
There, he was executed by at least one shot by criminals who escaped after taking his blue
Volkswagen Amarok
truck , which was later found abandoned in the town of
Virrey del Pino
, in La Matanza.
According to reports, the vehicle was loaded with the personal belongings of the victim's family.
At the request of the prosecutor, the truck was seized to search for traces of the murderers.
"I was preparing everything inside the house when I heard a couple of shots at the door. When I came out,
I found Leonardo lying on the floor and covered in blood
," said the victim's girlfriend, almost in a state of shock.
The woman told television media that she was inside the house with the victim's daughter and that they were preparing to "leave for San Bernardo."
Minutes later, police sources confirmed that Quinteros was shot in the stomach, on the right side.
Police experts found
a 9 mm sheath
at the scene .
Police personnel and prosecutor Fernando Capello, in charge of the Functional Instruction Unit (UFI) 2 of Morón, worked at the scene.
Also members of the 5th Police Station of Pontevedra, who seize cameras from the place to identify the murderous criminals.
"He owned a refrigerator and a worker"
A friend and employee of the victim, who identified himself as Damián, added in a conversation with
Canal TN
that the businessman was leaving his house to go on vacation when he was approached by the criminals.
"We don't know how many criminals there were; they shot him and he was left at the door of the house. We don't know anything else, the Scientific (Police) is there and they are investigating," the man confirmed.
When referring to Quinteros, Damián assured that he owned a refrigerator located in La Matanza and that "he did nothing but work."
"He was a working guy, a guy who gave work to many people, the entire neighborhood worked with him, I don't know how many employees he had, about 40," added the employee, who recalled that the victim "had already suffered some robberies."
Damián said that the victim had four children, one of whom was on vacation and is now returning, adding that he was also on vacation and was about to embark on a trip.
Shortly before the attack, Quinteros had left a voice message for his nephew, with whom he worked at the refrigerator, to let him know that he had forgotten a key to his house in the store.
It is believed that after that communication he was ambushed and murdered.
