"Today's green light marks a fundamental stage of a reform that serves our young people and the country. I thank the president of the Education Commission, Roberto Marti, the rapporteur, Ella Bucalo, the undersecretary Paola Frassinetti and the entire parliamentary majority for having supported the bill , making certainly improving additions. I also thank the Regions for the important contribution given", said the Minister of Education and Merit, Giuseppe Valditara, after the Senate approved at first reading the government bill which reforms technical-professional education with the introduction of the new 4+2 model.
"This is a reform long awaited by schools and the productive world and in which this government strongly believes", continues the minister.
"We will have a first class technical and professional training chain, which will be able to count on the strengthening of basic disciplines and the increase of laboratory and professional ones; on greater connections between schools and businesses, but also on greater internationalization and research. It is therefore not a question of reducing programs in high school for one year but to have programs revised and strengthened over 4 years, keeping the number of teachers unchanged and therefore having more teachers per class. Our objective is that young people have the adequate preparation to find qualified employment more quickly and that companies have the professionalism necessary to be competitive", he concludes.
