Princess Madeleine and Chris O'Neill's moving plans could be on the rocks again.
Will the Swedes wait in vain for Madeleine to return in 2024?
Pinecrest – In March of last year, a piece of news caused a stir in Sweden.
After five years in sunny Florida, Princess Madeleine (41), husband Christopher O'Neill (49) and children Princess Leonore (9), Prince Nicolas (8) and Princess Adrienne (5) announced their move to Stockholm for the summer.
But the anticipation didn't last long.
Stockholm or Pinecrest – Princess Madeleine and Chris O'Neill “just don't see eye to eye”
Shortly before the announced move date, the royal retreat followed.
Palace communications chief Margareta Thorgren told the Swedish newspaper
Expressen
that Princess Madeleine and her family would not return to Sweden until 2024.
“It's just that the time for the family, with everything that moving entails, was a little too short,” is the succinct explanation.

Difficulties in selling their villa in Pinecrest, Florida, are said not to have been the reason, even though no buyer appears to have been found for the property.
Rather, the different lifestyles of Princess Madeleine and Chris O'Neill are said to be responsible for the back and forth, as a palace insider now reveals to Hänt.
Princess Madeleine and Chris O'Neill just didn't see eye to eye.
If we're honest, Chris sees his impending departure from Florida as a tragedy.
He enjoys the sun in Florida, the relaxed lifestyle and friends in the USA.
And most of all, he appreciates that he isn't watched as closely in Pinecrest as he was in Stockholm.

“Think through the decision again”: Can Madeleine and Chris agree on Sweden as their center of life?
London-born businessman Chris O'Neill has never hidden his preference for a life away from the spotlight.
For professional reasons, he renounced Swedish citizenship and his elevation to the Swedish nobility and therefore does not have the title of prince, like Crown Princess Victoria's (46) husband Prince Daniel (50).
Chris doesn't seem to be enthusiastic about the fact that Princess Madeleine now wants to move back to her home country.

“The couple simply needs to think through the decision again and think about what their family life should look like in the future,” said the insider.
But Madeleine probably doesn't want to wait too long.
“She has said several times that she wants the children to receive a Swedish education,”
Svensk Damtidning
quoted a source as saying.
However, a new moving date has not yet been announced, so Madeleine's family has to be content with visits, most recently on Queen Silvia's 80th birthday one day before Christmas.
