Boerne actor Jan Josef Liefers has commented on a possible exit from the “crime scene” investigators from Münster.
Münster – Chief Detective Frank Thiel alias Axel Prahl (63) and the forensic doctor Prof. Dr. have been investigating since 2002.
Dr.
Karl-Friedrich Boerne alias Jan Josef Liefers (59) in the “Tatort” team from Münster.
The last new “crime scene” with the two actors ran on December 10, 2023, and the contracts apparently run until 2024. Will what is currently the most popular team of investigators then perhaps leave the “crime scene” like many of their colleagues?
“Tatort” exit wave: Is the Münster team also affected?
Only recently, Munich commissioners Ivo Batic and Franz Leitmayr, played by Miroslav Nemec (69) and Udo Wachtveitl (65), announced their departure from the crime series on Erste after 100 episodes.
In an exclusive interview with tz and merkur, they explain what is behind their “Tatort” farewell.
And the two are not the only ones who will soon no longer be seen in the series.
There had already been a lot of exits before.
A fate that also awaits Jan Josef Liefers in “Tatort”?
Stern.de
asked him at the 48th German Film Ball in Munich whether things would continue without Professor Boerne.
“One day it will be time for us too,” replied the actor.
“The day will come when we stop – either of our own accord or because we are stopped.”
From the Münster “crime scene”?
Jan Josef Liefers takes a stand
But Liefers doesn't seem to be expecting an early end at the moment: "The Münster 'crime scene' will definitely be around for a few more years." The fans of the investigator duo can probably breathe a sigh of relief for the time being.

However, according to wiewardertatort.de,
Alex Prahl speculated
about the end of the Münster “crime scene” as early as January 2023 and stated in an interview that the production wanted to make sure that Thiel and Boerne completed 50 episodes.
If things didn't continue after that, the last “crime scene” with Liefers and Prahl would be shown in 2026.
Last week, a minute-long audio breakdown confused “Tatort” viewers.
