“We can confirm that the fire was caused by a gas explosion.
Our firefighters are working 24 hours a day to contain it
,” said Adamson Bungei.
“Concerted actions by various intervention units resulted in the successful evacuation of 271 people to different health facilities in Nairobi
,” the Kenyan Red Cross said on X (ex-Twitter), adding that 27 other people were were treated on site.
