The young Romanian mother with a one-month-old baby who was in the Turin Lorusso and Cotugno prison was transferred from the penitentiary to Icam, the attenuated custody institution for detained mothers adjacent to the prison and dedicated specifically to detained women with children .
The transfer was arranged this morning following the order issued by the investigating judge of Pistoia after yesterday the prison management had immediately taken action requesting the move from the competent judicial authority and identifying the structure.
"The management of the institute had immediately requested the move and immediately, yesterday, the institute of attenuated custody for detained mothers of Turin had been identified. As soon as the order from the competent judge arrived, the move was carried out", underlines a statement from the Ministry of Justice.
